I would straighten it every day (I know, I know, it's unhealthy) and I used to despise my hair, but now I let it go natural every day, and I found it's pretty and I get a lot of compliments on it. I used to dream of straight hair (and some days I still do, but not nearly as often) because my hair was so curly. I even wanted it permantly straightened. Curls are a gift, embrace them<3

Aug 5, 2011 - god hates me. i'm asian, of chinese/malay descent and for some reason, i have curly hair just like yours (most people in my community have straight, fine hair). the fact that i live in the most humid + hot place on earth does not allow me to wash only once a week (i wash on alternate days or everyday depending on the heat!). sighhhh.

May 25, 2012 - Don't force it. You should use a good detangler (Africa's Best has one that I love) once you're out of the shower and finger-comb your hair. That, or use either a paddle brush or a wide-toothed comb. Never brush or comb your hair when it's dry because it will frizz up and look bad. Always style when it's wet.

Honestly, it is about how you style your hair; if you know how to care for it then it'll look better than if you don't. Trim dead ends once every three months, and deep-condition about once a month. (This can be done @ home.) Never style when hair is dry, only wet. It's better for your hair and will cause less frizzing.
